Project Cargo

Project cargo is a term that broadly describes the national or international movement of large, heavy, high value, or complex pieces of equipment. The items can be sourced from one individual location or globally.

Project cargo can consist of multiple or single shipments and can both cover a wide range of freight volume and cargo value. It can be single or multiple pieces of equipment being transported from one country to another, or to numerous destinations over a period. It can be transported by land, sea, or air, and can involve various modes of transport including, cranes, planes, rail, ships, and trucks.

Attention to detail is crucial when dealing with project cargo. Pre-planning is a key step that leads to delivery satisfaction. Maintaining efficiency in such complex cargo operations will eliminate risks and reduce costs.

Operational Issues that need to be analysed:

  • The type of cargo and number of parts involved
  • Maximum weight and dimensions of pieces
  • Customers delivery requirements
  • Origin facilities/routes
  • Consolidation points
  • Origin / Destination governmental regulations
  • Onsite delivery

When analysing and planning the above aspects, we strive to achieve the move with the lowest possible cost with the customers’ needs at the forefront of our focus.

Planning and executing project cargo moves is detailed and complex and requires more resourceful thinking than any type of cargo.
